Six Signs He’s Cheating

It probably happens once to every woman at some point. You get a sense that your man is cheating. Unfortunately, that sense is usually proven correct. But how can you be sure? What are the signs to look for if you suspect he’s cheating? Below are some indicators that may help you figure out whether or not your man is remaining faithful.

Excuses Not To See You – He may tell you that he’s busy. Or he may just be “too tired”. Or he has a really rough day at work tomorrow. Now, it should be noted that all of these can be real reasons that he’s not seeing you and he’s not cheating. But be cautious; once the excuses start to pile up, there is probably something else going on that he’s not letting you know about.

Ditching Plans You Made In Advance – Same as #1 in that just because he ditches you doesn’t mean he’s cheating. But a good indicator is that if you make plans for a Friday and a Saturday together, and he decides that he can do both days, only to back out on the Friday, there may be another woman he’s seeing. Also, keep track of how many times he’s ditched you in the last few weeks. If there starts to be a pattern, it’s a good indicator that he’s having extracurricular activities.

He Doesn’t Invite You Out With His Friends – Sure, every guy needs guy time. But what he also doesn’t need are his friends knowing that he has a girlfriend, or you getting in the way of potentially hitting on other women. Same goes for work events: if he’s seeing someone at work, having you around will kill his game. If he doesn’t want to be seen with you in these settings, there’s probably a reason.

He Checks His Phone/E-mail More Often – Another good sign. If he’s checking his phone more, it might mean that he’s waiting for a big call. But it might also mean that he’s waiting to hide that text that will give him away. Or he’s deleting the phone call log so that if you happen to look at his phone you won’t see a random woman’s name. Similarly with email, he’s checking his email on his phone or at your place far too often. Unless he’s extremely tied up with work, he’s looking for something that you wouldn’t approve of.

When You Ask Where He’s Been, His Stories Don’t Add Up -  Unless your man is a very creative cheater, his stories will tend to run out after a time period. Ask him what he was doing — usually he’ll give a short answer. If you don’t press him for more details, you’ll never know. Ask him what he did, who he hung out with, where he was, etc. He may stumble over these details, and sometimes he’ll get caught saying a lot more than he intended. And remember to bring up again in a few days — the problem with lying is that it’s hard to remember a lie. If he’s not telling the truth, you’ll probably catch him.

You Have A Gut Feeling – The human brain picks up thousands of unconscious signals. Your gut may be telling you something’s up, even if he doesn’t fit the above list. It’s a safe bet that you’re having a gut feeling for a reason — you may not be conscious of it, but you know something’s different about him or his behavior. In most cases that I’ve seen, the gut is right.
