Simon says it is very unfortunate that Tom and Katie have filed for divorce. Perhaps there is a lack of honesty in the relationship, especially since there are many rumors in Hollywood that Tom Cruise may be gay. These rumors have consistently followed him ever since his previous marriage to Nicole Kidman. Everybody in the industry knows that most people in Hollywood are either gay or bisexual but are acting like they are not, in order to uphold their images. So with that said, perhaps it is best for all parties involved to just be honest with themselves, as well as the public, before they enter into a relationship. For example, Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith are known to be swingers.

People should not be afraid, just because of their movie star status, to admit that they are gay. We will still go see “Mission: Impossible 5” even if Tom is gay or has a boyfriend, because at this point we simply like the movie concept.  How many James Bond 007 agents have there been? And yet we still keep going to see the next Bond film.

The lesson is that we should all be ourselves. So long as that ingredient called LOVE is the basis of our relationship, then what can anybody really say about your choices? “Man, I hate him because he loves Danny”?

We know Tom has an image to uphold, but he’ll still be just as tough (kind of, sort of) in “Mission: Impossible 5” because he is that great of an actor. In reality, Tom will be the same great movie star he has already established himself to be–whether his preference is women, men or both.

The truth heals relationships. It also helps heal the world and all Tom’s fans that may be confused. Tom is a great actor and Hollywood is a big business, but the one thing you can never buy, no matter how rich and famous you become, is true love. Always remember, whatever kind of mask you wear, the real you will eventually come out.

On the other hand, Katie seems to have been a nice lady until she planned her divorce, catching Tom off-guard. This implication is downright dirty and shows a side of Katie that was not obvious to the public. It shows that she can get down in the dirt with the dogs. A true princess never does this.  If you want honesty in a relationship, you have to set an example, no matter what your partner does.  It’s very simple. Follow the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would like them to do unto you.” No surprises; just be upfront and honest. The best way to get revenge is by setting a good example. Leaving a bad taste in his mouth is the last thing you want to do, especially when the world is watching (Women Have the Power to Help Men Become Better) Otherwise, it shows a lack of class and maturity on the woman’s part. Unless Katie learns to forgive and accepts responsibility for her mistakes, they will be repeated in her next relationship.

So what mistakes did Katie make? Maybe she was blinded by Tom’s stardom and her own desire for fame and fortune. It is pretty awesome and very tempting, to be chosen by one of the world’s most eligible bachelors and biggest box-office stars, especially when you dream of being a star yourself. Tom could have chosen just about any woman on planet Earth. “Um, Foofoo, do you want to get married? Yes, Tom, but I have to get a divorce from Eddie (Murphy) first. Can you wait?”  So we can see how Tom’s proposal could have totally blindsided an unsuspecting and naive Katie. But there is nothing in life like reality. Once the dust settles, all of the glitter becomes irrelevant. It’s back to the basics again–Tom and Katie sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G.

The most amazing part is, they have all the money they could ever ask for but don’t have happiness. So what is the lesson here? Money can’t buy happiness. What are the ingredients to true happiness? Trust is one. Honesty, commitment, remorse, love and forgiveness are the others. If you don’t have these core ingredients in any relationship, you have nothing. Money won’t be able to save you. It may save your image or the embarrassment resulting from the truth, but neither money nor fame can ever make another person love you. Only you and what lives inside of you can do that.
